How to decide what watch to buy? We help you with that decision.
A wristwatch is an intimate thing. This case needs to be taken more seriously than you think, because the watch can say a lot about you. When you come to the store for a good watch, you have a lot of choices. Your eyes start to run out, and many people don't know how to choose a good watch. You can, of course, go to the retailer and ask for advice, but you know what they work for. So I will tell you a few criteria by which you can narrow down the choice.
Quartz or mechanics?
Watches are divided into two types according to their movements: quartz and mechanical. Electronic watches in this case can be classified as quartz watches, as they both use the same mechanism to display the time - a quartz oscillator.
From the advantages of a quartz mechanism, we would single out the accuracy of a watch. The hands move smoothly.
This watch will run on a battery of 3 to 5 years (or more in some cases), provided it is a good watch. Also, you do not need to worry about winding your watch, which is not actually here. The only advantage of mechanics is a long period of work. This mechanism is currently considered retro, and therefore price/quality is directly proportional. The downsides are, of course, a small deviation in time (which you will not notice) and periodic winding of the mechanism.
Bracelet or strap?
There are two categories here too: a bracelet and a strap. The bracelet is made exclusively of metal or ceramic. Strap can be leather, rubber or fabric.
The advantages of a leather bracelet are in its quick replacement. Wear the object faster, but to find a replacement is much easier and cheaper. Almost all straps fit the bar and there is plenty of color choice. What can not be said about the metal.
In comparison to the strap, the minus two is the fixation on the hand (position adjustment) and replacement (bracelet is harder to find and much more expensive). About the reliability of the fixation is a controversial issue here. Under certain conditions, of course, worse holding bracelet, because you can carelessly catch the locking mechanism. Of course, the chance that the watch will slip off your arm is minimal, but believe us, if this happens, you will not even notice it. The bracelet may require care. If there is water, there may be traces (lime), so sometimes you need to clean it.
Dial and glass
The main three types of glass are mineral, sapphire and combined glass. The strength goes in the same order. Only the price is slightly different. Sapphire glass will be the most expensive. Note that if the glass is strong, it does not mean it can protect against scratches. That's why the combination is stronger than anyone else, but it doesn't guarantee protection from visible scratches. This glass is mainly used on sports watches, where exceptional reliability under heavy loads is required. It is advisable to take a watch with little protection against moisture (rain, for example) and minimal exposure to water.
The dial is also available in three different versions - the hands, the watch bracelets and a more transparent watch. The transparent watch is powered by a pusher which, when pressed, displays the hands on the transparent bezel. On bracelet watches, the dial is electronic, and also when you press (or permanently) the time is displayed. What a classic - the hands, which I will tell a little about. When choosing a watch with hands there are two types - risks or numbers.
They can be painted or set in troughs. There are cases that when you fall, the glued risks can simply fall out, and their repair is not cheap.
Shape, dimensions, body
This choice is understood to be more comfortable to wear. A large body will interfere with the position of your brush from the back when you move towards yourself. Also consider the fact that a mechanical watch will be larger than a quartz one. The shape may be different, but the classic two - the circle and rectangle.
When choosing a rectangular watch, please note that they will not look on sportswear. Rectangular watches are chosen only for the strict style of clothing, the classics. Round watches can be suitable for almost any type of clothing, and even for sportswear.
The choice of case is also not insignificant. As a rule, inexpensive watches have pollination (for example, gold) which makes them expensive. But it happens that in 2-3 weeks it will simply wear off. Therefore, the usual gold-plated and varnish pollination is immediately eliminated. Good models are based on surgical, 316L stainless steel or titanium alloy. They are wear-resistant and have good resistance to environmental stimuli.
Style and flavors
We can only say a few words here. A watch can determine the nature and status. Try to listen to yourself and see what suits you best - a dial with Roman numerals or Arabic? Do you need an extra chronometer? If you are looking for a designer watch (glamorous)?
Think about how you dress most of your life, and then you'll decide to buy it faster.
